Deck Building
Deck Types
They are basicly the first dedicated parts of planes focused on those particular color groups. They take their subjects from what those colors did in those sets. They get more cpmplicated as you dive in like which color constributes most. Have fun
Each deck type focuses on a color group. The names come from the planes

Deck origins
Ravnica guilds. Khans from tarkir. Shards of alara
names for 4 color decks based on mtg nephilim or say non what ever 5th color is missing deck
Ok so googling these terms will help. Ravnica guilds. Khans from tarkir. Shards of alara. So you arent looking really for styles, but rather the colors of a deck. There are aslo names for 4 color decks based on mtg nephilim or we say non-whatever the missing 5th color is. Btw when writing colors shorthand where r=red, w=white, g=green, u=blue, b=black 10 guilds Izzet-RU, Golgari-GB, Azorious-WU, Rakdos-RB, Dimir-BU, Boros-RW, Gruul-GR, Selesnya-GW, Orzhov-BW, Simic-GB 5 khans Abzan-WBG, Jeskai-RUW, Mardu-RWB, Sulati-BGU, Temur-RGU 5 Alara shards Esper-WBU, Bant-WUG, Jund-BGR, Naya-RWG, Grixis-RBU

Also monobrown is all colorless artifacts. Because old school artifacts were brown bordered
Here's a site that will help with the names of the color combos and show you what lands/mana rocks exist for each color combination. Its a very good resource if you want to build a mana base for a commander deck

It helped me a lot to only focus on the two color combo “Ravnica” guilds and then the three color combos from “Tarkir” (I think). For example: if I add red to dimir then it is grixis
The three color “shards” are from alara - bant, Esper, Naya, grixis, and Jund
The three color “wedges” are from tarkir -sultia, jeskai, azban, mardu, temur
They refer to particular color combinations used by various factions thru the multiverse. Start with the 2 color guilds from ravnica, and move on from there. Here's a start. My favorite guild aestheticly is Golgari (G/B).
